| Modem for HP Pavilion notebook
I am new to this forum. I need help!
My HP Pavilion zt1130 notebook's modem card is totally dead and I just passed the 1 year warranty period. Since Pavilion does not have a serial port for connecting external modem, my only option is to replace it. Does anyone here knows where I can buy one? Do I have to buy from HP (that must cost me an arm and a leg)?
Any help is appreciated. |

HP partsurfer shows this....
F3377-60950 58.00 Mini-PCI PCA - 56k modem
CUSTOMER REPLACEABLE WARRANTY PART (CREW)
You may be able to pick up a PC card 56k for less from the boards or Ebay. |

no, not pc card slot, the mini pci slot, it's in the chassis, under an access panel somewhere, it leaves the pcmcia(pc card) slot open. |

Thanks. |

I'm sure there are. xircom, 3com, and other make them, but it is more of a matter of finding the corrct drivers for your machine. I'm not that computer savy, so I would get the correct pn and browse ebay for the part cheap. Why not just go with a ethernet pc card instead? no broadband? I haven't used my 56k modem in years. |

No, I don't have broadband. Cannot justify the cost.
I checked eBay and found mant mini-PCI modems, but none says it's compatible with HP Pavilion. I have to keep looking...
Thanks. |
