Dell Inspiron 5000
Does the Dell Inspiron 5000 laptop computer take a Type 3 or a type 2 pc modem card?
Thanks

It uses the PC Card Controller TI PCI-1225
The PCI1225 supports PCMCIA double deck slots and Hot Insertion/Removal of two Type I/II cards simultaneously, or one Type III card. A Type III card must be inserted into the bottom slot.

Thanks nuggetsmyname.
I purchased a Xircom 10/100 Network & 56K Modem Card. Installed software and installed modem card in lower slot. Dell laptop cannot find modem. I am running Windows 2000 Prof. CompUSA person said I needed a type 2 card, not a type 3 such as the Xircom that I purchased. I am confused about which type I need on my laptop. Can someone help me?
