Sony Vaio PCG-F270 LCD Screen help

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Here is what I have:

The upper 1/8th of the LCD screen is working properly (you can see everything), the lower 7/8th of the screen is white (nothing on it, just plain white) :-(

I have been e-mailing with 2 repair guys both of them told me that the LCD screen needs to be replaced .
They quoted me between 170-270 for the replacement. (depending if I'll do it or send it in)

Now, a friend (electric engineer) told me that if I take it apart I can see who made the LCD screen (the manufacturer), and order it direct from the factory for around 60 bucks .... (taht is what he said ...)

The problem : I don't seem to find a way to take apart the screen : I can wedge a screwdriver in the side between the plastic, but it does not seem to "pop apart" or anything ...

So any of you guys knows how to look inside ? how to take out the LCD screen from the Laptop's plastic frame ?

thx!!

OK , I have found my answer reading some of the posts here : there were 4 tiny little screws hiding under the little rubber bumbers. Once I have removed those the front plastic panel came off fairly easy.
I have found the model # on the back of the LCD screen:
it is a Hitachi TX36D85VC1CAA size: 14.1 TFT resolution 1024x768 XGA

After a quick google search I have found a few suppliers, most of them do not list the price so I have e-mailed them for info. Also there are a few sites which list cross reference charts for finding out the model# of your laptop's screen WITHOUT taking it apart , hm ...

So this is where I am now, waiting for the pricing info to roll in ...I'll let you know about them ..
