is this the right forum?
Hello All,
I found this forum while trying to fix my PC today, and it helped in that I was finally able to get back to windows, but their are still problems. There seemed to be related threads, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to mention my details.
I run windows 2000 on a PC my friend built...it's got a gigabyte motherboard, and an amd athalon processor.
Anyhow...I was messing with my DSL settings (restored old ones...don't ask me why), and after it asked me to restart it kept crashing...right when the winodws screen popped up...with the progress bar, it would go to a blue screen and say it was a stop error.
After trying a bunch of stuff, I just decide to reinstall...I think that is when I began to get the missing Ntldr notice.
Then I changed the order in which the bios loaded drives, and I was finally able to get to windows. But if I take out the wondows CD the missing notice will come back up.
and before winodws does come up with the CD in there, it will tell me that "Bios is not installed because there are no drives attached "
So I think that is all the pertanent information. If anbody could just help me get my baby back to normal that would be great.
Thanks for your time.
