Ok i was trying to plug in a serial ATA cable to connect tpo a hard drive and when I pulled it out it took the serialATA clot on the board with it. Now there are just Pins where the slot used to be. I rebooted the machine and it works fine (for now) but i was wondering what should I do? will this do harm to the motherbaord having the Serial ATA connector on the board exposed wihtout the black connector plug? In other words, its exposing the actual metal teeth thingys.
On another note, i also tried to connect to the back of the hard drive and when i tried to pull it off, it broke the connector of the hard drive. Its a Western Digital 74GB Raptor Hard drive. it's only 4 months old and i bought it off newegg.com Drive only. Do you think Western Digital will take it back?
thanks!
