Do you have an older CPU that you could try? Something like an XP 2000+ ? Or simply just another Athlon that you could try in there to see if it is recognized? |

Ok...forget your computer properties for now, what is it showing up as during POST? It's obviously being recognized as something or your computer wouldn't boot up. |

If it does that, it'll need a BIOS update first and above all.
If the board's latest BIOS does not know your 2400+, then maybe it's a Thorton (model-10) and the board wants the older Thoroughbred (model-8). |

I think when that baord first came out..with early bios etc..it only supported 266fsb...but with later bioses it can do 333 fsb so it should recognize your cpu no problem if you get the latest bios (ok I see the 2400 was 266fsb....but it still might not be recognized if you have old bios that came out b4 the 2400 came out) http://www.albatron.com.tw/english/i....asp?pro_id=33

2400+ is 133 MHz anyway. Unless it's a Sempron, in which case you'll need a VERY fresh BIOS, from last month or so. |
