Depends on the version. It's no big deal flashing the BIOS, though, even if you need to. You can always RMA it if you screw it up!
Seriously though, about the only way to screw it up is to use the incorrect BIOS for the update (you can read, right?) or to have the power interrupted during the 20 seconds or so while it's flashing.
