A7V400-MX won't boot from HDD
I've never run into this problem before and it's really stumping me/quote annoying.
Here's the low-down . . .
Quantum Fireball 20GB
256MB Crucial PC2100
With UDMA Transfer enabled, the PC will not boot from the HDD. With it disabled, XP gives an error.This signature intentionally left blank.

Try installing XP from the start with DMA disabled. Then you can enable it later. This article may or may not help with the issue:

Guess it was just a defective HDD. I got a replacement and it works fine now.This signature intentionally left blank.
