Topic: finally i bought all the parts MSI K8N Neo-FSR & amd 64 3000+ 512 ddr hyper x kingston cd-rom etc... i need some help how to set the jumper right because it doesnt say normal , the jumper is like this JBAT1 1&2 = clear...

help me with jumper on the mobo

finally i bought all the parts MSI K8N Neo-FSR & amd 64 3000+ 512 ddr hyper x kingston cd-rom etc...

i need some help how to set the jumper right because it doesnt say normal , the jumper is like this JBAT1 1&2 = clear 2&3 = keep data what should i set it to? thx answer back asap ....

Set it to keep data.

Clear Data is only to reset your CMOS configuration settings.

the best way of doing it is reading the motherboard manual, you can never go wrong with that

I believe that MSI usually ships their motherboards with jumpers in place. In other words, it should already be set to keep data. If it is not, move it.

one more thing before i install it, is it ok if i connect hard driver (set as master) with cd-rom (set as master also) on the same cable ?

On same cable, set Hard drive to master and set Cd-Rom drive to slave.

If both master, they wont detect.

NO!
They either have to be on a different IDE channel/cable or you would have to set them to master and slave or cable select (I recommend cable select )
