TRYED THE unplug keyboard but windows just came up no black screen!
dam when you want these things to crash they don't  any other methods including looking inside case? to find what kind of mobo i have or what socket do i have for cpu upgrade? |

Looking inside the case would work pretty well, I should think...
If you right click My Computer and select properties, it should tell you what kind of processor you have. Unless you're running old Windows, maybe.
Otherwise the mothboard type should be printed on the board between two of the PCI slots. |

thks i know what proccessor i have AMD DURON 750/100 BUT I DONT KNOW what to replace it with a duron 1.2 ghz i guess?? would fit and work without overloadin somethin else? i need to get over that 1.ghz barrier for the new sims and games-i'll check between the pci slots

pre built but added ram and g card
Compaq peserio-model 5wv252
windows(me)
amd duron 750/100-(((soon to be 1.3ghz)))  ---T462 socket
640 sdram-(came with 64mb)
geforce4mx440-64ram g card (came with nvidia tnt card)
ok i pulled my panel and looked at my mobo and picked a few ##'s to see if they ring a bell to anyone here---

you can try EverestHome to ID it
If it doesn't, you will have to remove the side panel and visually look for the name and model no# silk screened, (painted) on the board itself... or possibly a sticker...
if you can find nothing the next step is MOBOT... it is a search tool that you use by filling in the physical characteristics of the board and it matches up what brands/models match that.... then you just narrow it down by the picture.

Another option is CPU-Z (sorry don't have the link to it, but it's easy enough to find).
It worked when I needed to ID an old board. |

my fsb -100.2 mhz
bus speed 200.3 mhz-----is this good?- or at least ok to get a bigger cpu---currently amd duron 750 |
