upgrading motherboard. will this work?

I own a gateway 500se computer and was thinking of upgrading the motherboard and cpu. The board I have now is a micro atx form.

The one I'm looking at getting is an atx form

Would this fit, if so would I have to modify the case at all.

Last question, would I have to buy another copy of win-xp, the xp disk I have now is a gateway verison but it dos'nt automaticly load the network and audio drivers when I reformat, I have to put in a different disk for them so i was thinking it might work. I plan on using the same hard-drive to if possible. Thanks alot in advance for any help.

I think that gateway cases require special mother boards, I.E. gateway made Mother boards, kinda like dell.

You would most likely need a bigger power supply than what was included in your case. (if the case will work at all)

you can reuse the harddrive but you will have to reformat for the new board

the gateway probobally came with a restore disk for reformatting which will only work with their mobo

if you have a friend with an oem xp disk you can use that and your cd key to install

What 600W PSU did you find? Most PSUs that come with cases really suck, Quality is more important that quantity.

I'd highly recommend getting a high quality PSU separate from the Case if your looking to spend around that much. Don't forget to figure in shipping because Tigerdirect usually charges outrageous prices...

Look at www.newegg.com and see if there are any cases you might like.

As for PSU's I'd recommend something along the lines of this

or this depending on your budget.
