Post Max IDE on 939 MoBo

Which 939 Motherboard (as supplied retail) provides maximum number of IDE channels available for use ? I thought I saw a 4 channel (8 IDE devices) but do not recall ID. Some have max 3 IDE channels, with a Promise controller w/ RAID avail for 1 IDE channel or for SATA. But lacks RAID for IDE and SATA, only one your choice for RAID setup. Been looking @ reviews, so much stuff, so little real info.
Desire 8+ IDE devices, plus SATA RAID 0, plus 2 SATA drives.
    Any recommendations or experiences??

    Cool to HB, Koutech IO-PIR133

TY but am looking for MoBo w/ the max IDE as supplied retail.
The Koutech PCI controllers you recommend handles 4 IDE devices, and/or supports RAID, so I could hook up 4 DVD burners and burn to all 4 simultaneuosly?
Any problems with spacing PCI cards to allow ribbon cables install (air flow, etc)?

Wow, with a PCI card like that coudl I potentially add two more IDE drives without sacrificing two of my existing IDE drives?

Pardon my ignorance, I did not know such things existed and if so I am very interested ...

Yes, you could get as many of the PCI cards as you could fit in your computer and put as many IDE drives as you want.

no loss in speed if accessing just one drive. But I do notice lag when I am trying to access more than one IDE drive on the controller card at the same time.

Well the PCI bus is more or less 133 Megabyted per second. And it would take a pretty good SCSI array to fill that all the way, so the loss of transfer rate compared to a MB IDE controller would be nothing.

Exclamation Koutech PCI controllers on SL-K8TPro

I got an PSA-150 (SATA RAID in slot 1) and PIR-133 [(2 Channel IDE w/ RAID option) in slot 2, but not working yet]
Have the SATA RAID w/ Win XP loaded now, but had some problems.
Did not work at first as listed in user manual . After days of experimentation I fiqured it out, boots real fast. I think quicker than on board IDE, SATA or PDC 579 !
Am running 4 different RAID 0 setups now !
    2 WD360GD raptor (different controllers), Max160,

The Koutech PCI IDE controller you recommended can handle 4 IDE devices, and/or supports RAID, so I could hook up 4 DVD burners and burn to all 4 simultaneuosly?
Not many problems with spacing PCI cards to allow ribbon cables install (air flow, etc).

can't raid cd drives lol. on the other hand with a program like nero you can use asynchronous (spelling?) burning to burn to all of them at once!

the loss of speed has to do more with the pci bus being slow and the card being slow to access two drives at teh same time rather than the 133mbps speed of the ata interface

/edit (which is the hardware and which is the interface...ide and ata..which is which?? AAHH!!!! lol)
