| Fujitsu-Siemens D1675 Pin Connector Problem
I was wondering if anyone could assist me. I am trying to install a new motherboard and cpu for my parents PC. They bought a Mainboard D1675 and I can not get the hardrive to power up to save my life. I have downloaded the manual from Fujitsu-Siemans website and double check the pin connection settings and the seem to be correct. When I power up the PC, the led ligths stay on, the CPU fan and case fan turns on but I get no reaction from the harddrive, no video from the video card, absolutely nothing. Also the holding in the power button doesnt turn off the system. I have to switch it off in the back. Im sure this is probably a newbie question, but what am I forgetting to do? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here are the specs.
Motherboard: Fujitsu-Siemens D1675 Pentium 4 478 pin DDR333 (800FSB)
CPU: Intel Celeron 2.0GHz 128K 400FSB 478pin
Let me know if more information is needed. Thanks in advance. |

As it looks, the board isn't starting. When you're triple-sure already you hooked everything up right, do it again. Also check whether you mounted the board into the case correctly (standoffs in the right places and none in the wrong places), all power supply lines hooked up, case wiring correct, CPU, fan, RAM, graphics card properly seated, etc. etc. |

I'm with Peter. Recheck all peripherials and connections. Consult your mobo manual for all proper placement of cables and wires. |

I just got the D1675 off eBay for the digital coax audio built-in. What a nightmare this has been. I ran into a similar problem as lestat1124, no screen, no beeps. Turns out I have to plug the P4 power cord into the board for my Celeron 2.0/400FSB to operate.
I've been able to flash the bios to the latest ( V4.06? R1.02.1675), but it tells me I still have a video controller conflict. I get a signal through the PCI video card, but not the AGP video card installed at the same time. Right now, I'm getting no video from the AGP card.
Windows (XPpro SP2) shows the (AGP) ATI Radeon 7000 in Device Manager, but tells me "This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)". I've failed to locate which resources the message is referring to.
Look familiar to anyone? |

What the heck is a P4 connector? Where is the socket for it on the motherboard? Yes I am talking about the D1675. I am having the same problem, the whole "motherboard-is-powered-without-the-power-switch-pressed" thing going on. I am not sure about my memory compatibility, but it shouldn't be making the board turn-on on its own, should it? |

I happen to be having the exact same problem...as the original poster of this thread...has anyone heard of a resolution, or do I need to RMA this puppy?
Thanks to all. |

I read somewhere that AGP cards with ATI chips may have a problem with this MB. I've tried three with no luck: Rage Fury Pro, Radeon 7000, Radeon 9200. The machine won't even boot with the 9200 inserted, just runs without beeps or video (from PCI). Quote: |

The connector is roughly two inches below the CPU about midway between the silver heatsink and the USB/LAN header. Newer power supplies boast Pentium4-ready because they include this connector.

lestat1124-
Were you using an AGP card? If so, what brand?
Thanks,

Many thanks to all who responded. My particular problem seems to have been a grounding issue. I believe one of the screws that holds the massive P4 heatsink on was touching some circuitry. I installed the little insulator washers, and all is well. Also, I discovered that this particular board, the D1675, ships from the factory with all the bios reporting screens OFF by default...that was helpful. you push F2 to get intot he bios, but you'd never know that, 'cause the little blurb that normally says "puch F2 for setup", etc. is turned off. you can go in and enable. firstly though, my problem seems to have been the grounding/short circuit. |

So the P4 connector is the 12V power connector the MB.
I had a 1.8Ghz Pentium 4, a PNY Geforce FX 5900 (AGP), DDR333 1 GB RAM (2x512 DIMMS). I ended up returning the MB and got me a Gigabyte 8S661FXM-RZ, so we'll see how that goes.
Never got the board to boot up...the D1675 one..but ohh well, and thanks for responses, I might've been able to do something if I had read it before I returned it, |
