pentium 4 and new MSi p4mam2-v

pentium 4 and new MSi p4mam2-v

i have just installed this motherboard (see title) but when i try to load up it halts and says frequency of cpu has been changed enter bios to alter then save settingd my chip is a P4 2.53(133x19) that is all i know . i have entered bios and tried all the frequency settings but i still get the halting the system just keeps resetting itself after the memory test and hardware varification
i have set system defaults and cleared bios numerouse times to no avail
i am desperate to solve this as it is not my pc and my sister is nearlly having a breakdown cos she caant work


please please can somebody help me

Try HERE . It will probably help you out much faster as it's dedicated to MSI boards.

the page wont load up . i have tried leaving this very same question on msi website but cant even load up the page

ps idont suppose you have any ideas on how to solve my problem do you ?

have you tried resetting the CMOS ? if you havent read the manual and it will tell you how to do it.

yeh i have tried that and when i restart i get the message cpu voltage settings have been changed enter bios to reset and save as before i have tried all voltage/frequency settings in bios but system still resets after memory test etc. the computer tries to load ie gives you options (safe mode etc) but when i click load in normal it restets again

ps i still cannot log onto msi forums says page cannot be displayed

aany ideas

when it says that does it also say push F1 to continue?

no it asks to start windows normally then after status bar gets to end it resets itself
and just keeps doing that

when i reset cmos and reboot the memory count happens then at bottom of screen it says press press f1 to continue del to enter set up
when i press f1 it goes to start up windows screen and resetts as i stated earlier

after resetting cmos i get the message warning cpu has been changed or cpu ratio changed fail
please re enter cpu settings in the cmos set up and remember to save before quitting

they are my options

Ok... not sure if you have these options or not but here:

Enter Bios and select Frequency Control (where the CPU, AGP, PCI etc. are all listed)

Dynamic Overclocking: Disabled
Performance Mode: Slow
CPU Ratio Selection: Locked
DRAM: Auto
Spread Spectrum: Disabled
CPU Bus Clock: 133
AGP/PCI: Auto
CPU Vcore Adjust: No

Go down to Save settings and exit.

i dont have these all i have is
memory voltage
agp voltage
cpu/agp/pci freq
auto disable dimm/pci clock
spread spectrum

dont have the others
