| Need drive "PCI Multimedia Audio Device"
Hi,
My kids have an old computer and by accident they formated the HD, and we don't have the install disk. I opened the computer and found some information which are as following:
- sound pro HT8738AM/PCI
- VIAGRA HT82C686A
- DAVICOM DM9102F
- And at the center of Motherboard there is a "ECS" ????
I don't understand much about computer, but I downloaded those 3 drivers, even after I install them, the computer don't have any sound and modem don't work and is still asking me for "PCI MULTIMEDIA AUDI DEVICE". Could anybody help me, because my kids are crying, they can't play some of their games without the audio?
Thans and best regards,
Valmir |

Welcome to TechIMO, Valmir!
Is this a store bought pc or a custom built one? What operating system are you using? |

Search for the serial numbers or anything you can find out about that card on google, that is what I do! If I were you, I would put the OS disk somewhere they can't reach!

Sounds to me like an ECS board with a VIA chipset, including the 686 southbridge. 8738 sounds like a C-Media audio chip, easiest way to get that driver is through Windows Update as C-Media's site is awfully slow. |

Easy there, no guesswork required
The "VIAgra" mainboard is a PC-Chips M585, based around the VIA MVP4 chipset.
Graphics are VIA "KPLE series" MVP4, audio/modem is CMedia 8738 ( www.cmedia.com.tw). Use the 4-in-1 chipset driver from VIA ( www.viaarena.com) as well, the LAN driver from www.davicom.com.tw - and the DAA modem driver from www.conexant.com under "PCTel drivers".
