You can always OC the clock speed.
and as far as as mobo, i am a few short days away from ordereing my very own DFI :-). Great OCer as far I can tell from reviews and such. | I ordered one for a friend and It looks great ( 3700 )
It is a sandiego and is a new core and what night wolf said
Is the better buy

The DFI looks nice and have no comment but the ASUS has good stability and The SLI on it Is out standing. Why not SLI.
spend the $40 now so when new cards come, pop another 6800gt the SAME probably cheaper and go. | That's what I was an idea I was playing around with before, to get SLI ahead of time, with a 6800GT, then eventually get a second SLI graphics card when the need arises. And a lot of people are saying its not worth it...now. But it will be in the future, right? |

| Not to be a party pooper, but why recommend the A8N-SLI over de DFI Lanparty Ultra-D??
Just cause of SLI?? Sorry to burst the bubble, but the DFI can run SLI as well.
It has 2 slots for graphic cards, and all one has to do is reseat a few jumpers and the 2 slots will be pci express x8, more then enough to run a SLI config, and you'd get the superior overclocking ability of the DFI board.
It's not for nothing that the DFI got the highest overclock award ya know.

So if I were thinking about getting a 3700+ san diego core to OC, the DFI Lanparty UT nF4 Ultra-D would be a better buy than the ASUS due to the overclockability issue?
I also heard you could get that with an SLI connector for the graphics cards if you so chose to go SLI with that same mobo...
so technically/theoretically it can run as both types, depending on the setting type thing...cool |

RAM: CORSAIR XMS 1 GB (2 X 512MB; 2-3-3-6)
PSU: *PENDING*

Anyway, I'll probably not be a die hard over clocker, but I will do it to get the performace I want out of what I'm potentially getting. The tomshardware.com liked it, but didn't love it, and cluboc.net loved it. So that's obvious that OCing on that board is amazing. So if the stability, features, etc. matches/excels that of the ASUS A8N-SLI, I may switch my decision on which mobo I'm getting |

I bought the DFI myself and it comes with all stuff needed to be able to run a SLI setup.
This board is loaded, and in an overclockers point f view the better choice over Asus.
Cause the DFI is just as stable at the same speeds as the Asus and can even reach hights that the Asus can only dream of. |
