| 8KHA+ motherboard had FF error code
Hi All,
My Friend suspect his Althon XP 1800+ CPU failed and he tried to install it in my machine to test. My machine had 8KHA+ with XP 1400+, 768MB RAM and 40GB HD. When he installed his CPU into my motherboard, it had no response. So he switch back to my XP 1400+ CPU and try to boot the machine. But the CPU have FF error code and unable to boot up. My LCD had no signal as well.
Is anyone have comment on it ? Please help !!!
Thanks
Eric |

Simple question but I have to ask... did you install your CPU heatsink/fan? Some mobo's won't boot without a HSF connected. |

FF isn't an error - is it? I thought that was the correct diagnostic code for normal boot. You sure your monitor is working?

Have you tried booting up with the bare minimum? CPU+HSF, PSU, RAM, and video card + monitor. Everything else disconnected. |
