    A7V400-mx se

i have recently purchased A7V400-mx se motherboard and it is working very nicely however when i shut down the pc. The cpu fan and monitor turn off, but the lan, usb, and mouse remain on. When i press the power button for about 4 secs then everything turns off but if i go to shutdown menu it doesn't.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure. It sounds like it is going to sleep instead of shutting down.
    Check power managment menu.

BE CAREFUL Your CPU is running without the fan running.

I did have computer do that once, but it happened when it was set to go to sleep by itself.

The CPU would get so hot, it would shut itself down the rest of the way after an hour or so.

Start, control panel, performance maintenance, power options.

    Check the first 3 tabs.

    Edit; If you have XP.
98 and 2k skip the performance maintenance

supposedly, the motherboard has still power running through it after being shut down therefore those remain on. it looks like my processor does shut down properly and iv called a few people and they say that their motherboard also does that, athough it is highly suspect i guess ill have to stick with it.
