I am currently having troubles with my desktop pc.
I have figured out what the problem is though,... hopefully...
my question though does not concern that, what it does concern is whether or not
i can put an old cpu into the new motherboard from an older computer.
the new pc consists of:
MSI k7n2 delta mother board - AMD 2.5 barton cpu -
2 sticks of 512mb pc 2700 Hyperx Ram(kingston) - etc.. if other stuff(graphics card, etc) affects i'll tell ya.
what i want to do is put my old 1.3 AMD athlon into this board above to make sure that the cpu is the only problem. Both are of the socket A type, its whether or not the system can "down grade" to the old cpu's lvl.
I figured out that my cpu was the problem with a niffty device my MSI board came with called the D-Bracket which basically tells you whats going on through a colored set of LEDs, according to it my CPU( the barton ) is either damaged or incorrectly place, since i have not taken it out in over a year i figure it is damaged.
Thanks for any input if any more info is needed i'll post it, Thanks
