Motherbooard power connectors

On my motherboard I noticed I have 2 power connectors. I have the standard oblong one and a small square one. Should both be connected or just the big oblong one?

You need to connect them both if there is a connection for it on the motherboard. The small square 4 pin connector supplies power to the cpu.

If there is a connection for it on the motherboard but not on the power supply then you need to get a new power supply.
