    DIMM slot issues

alright well, i just upgraded my comp alot from my last set up, but i have a problem i'm pretty sure that my some of the dimm slots are bad. the setup:
    asus sli-premium
    amd 64-bit 4000+
    ati x1800 xl
1x512mb kingston pc3200 hyper x,1x512mb kingston pc3200 value ram,(these are the two im using right now), 1x512mb kingston pc2700, and my older 512mb pc2700 stick from an unknown manufacturer. so i have 4 sticks of ram each 512mb 2xpc3200 and 2xpc2700, using dual channel setup i figured it work, well no not at all, in fact not matter what configuration i use these in it always doesnt load anything and there is a warning beep that sounds in a loop. because on this board it goes for the dimm slots blue, black, blue, black and i made the pc3200's blue and the pc2700's black and i even switched them around. so i htought i just have bad ram or something, but not when i tested my friends ram on my computer to see if it might work because he bought hte dual ram kit, and mine were singles. so his ram was 2x1gig corsair xms and 2x512mb corsair xms xpert all pc3200, and he is running his on an asus sli-deluxe in the blue, black pattern, so i borrowed his ram from his one day and i tryed it in the exact setup that he had on his computer and i still got the same warning beep, and i even tryed clearing the cmos and that did nothing. i just want to know if anyone had any ideas other than me rma the board, any info would be nice, thank you.

I would take 1 stick and try it in all 4 slots. If the computer runs fine, I would think the DIMM slots are actually okay. (Usually if DIMM slots fail, they won't work at all.)

The problem may lie in mixing two pc2700 and two pc3200 modules in the same motherboard, especially with one PC2700 not being kingston.

The problem could also be that the motherboard wasn't designed for that setup. Read the manual to be sure.

Lastly, if you feel comfortable updating the BIOS, Asus may have improved the compatibility for memory.

well i carefully read the maunel beforei even put in the ram, its says for only 1 stick config to put it in b1 which on the board in blue, black, blue, black it goes a1,a2,b1,b2 and i put it in b2 and still the same error message which tells me there probably is a failure because thats the slot its supposed to be in and it doesnt work but they work in a1, and a2 only.plus for dual channel its supposed to be a1,b1, and i used both pc3200's and it came up with an error message, so my b1 slot is definatly messed up i think.
