Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe nFORCE4 Sli 939

Hi,

i am buying an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe nFORCE4 Sli 939
i dont know if to get the AthlonXP 3800 or the X2 3800 i have been told by who i am getting the board from that both will work, but during my own research i cant find anything to back this up.

are they correct that the X2 will fit this board?

yes the x2 will fit in any socket 939 board...some may need a bios update but if you have not bought the board yet it will most likley ship with the most current

assuming you mean the a64 3800+ and not the xp as there is no xp 3800 and it would use a completley different socket if there were....the 64 will be slightly faster in single threaded apps like current games but when multi-tasking or using games and applications designed to take advantage of dual core offerings the x2 will pull much farther into the lead
