    K8VSE Deluxe acting strangely

    Hello all,
I've got a K8VSE Deluxe (asus), and i previously had a mirror raid
with two SATA drives. When the raid crashed during exam time, i just
took one of the drives out, destroyed the raid, and kept going. A few
weeks later, the current drive that I was using (that i didn't take
out) crashed. I tried to connect the other drive, but it wouldn't boot
(it's not a jumper problem or anything like that, it's seen as a
master). That night, I put in a FRESH, totally new 80 gig IDE drive,
and it crashed within an hour of being plugged in to the motherboard.
I'm not sure this isn't enough information to diagnose my motherboard,
but if any of you have seen any problems like this with any other K8VSE
Deluxes, please let me know. Any other advice is also greatly
    appreciated!
    Thanks so much
    -robert

Bad cable, or maybe a bad SATA port?
    Or bad luck.
    What brand were the drives?

    Re:

They were maxtor drives. It may have been a bad cable, but, there were both SATA and IDE drives. So there may have been two bad cables, however, i tend to doubt this, because it seems weird that both drives would crash (since they were on two seperate cables). Is there one place on the board where they both connect (that could possibly fry them). Have you ever heard of anything akin to this happening? (I realize that it's not that... freakish, but if 20,000 ofhter K8VSE's have done the same thing... )
    Thanks so much
    -Robert
