first you need to decide how much money your going to spend,
then you need to think about what you will use the computer for,
now and in the years to come, what programs will you be using,
will you be playing any games,

What do you want to do with this system?

Gaming, workstation type(CAD, etc), or regular(like web surfing and text editing) use?

heyal,

thanks for replies.

i was so hoping to get more response tho

answering last post would be little of everything really graphics, games, music surfing.

i cant afford the the duo core and have been looking for days i just seem to be so dumb founded here.

i want speed of course memory looooooove drive space and ive been finding the seagate 300gb on specials anything higher seems to jump about $80+ higher

i dont mind if audio is onboard but i do want the lan onboard and be nice to have the wifi onbrd too

i was just at asus sight still looking and one had kingston mem chip and i want nothing to do with kingston lol

hmmm im also confused here with with amd [which has always been my pref] but dont get the ghz being so much lower and how to figure the speed and how they name it by performance.

well im hopeing yal can give me more advice check back later thanks again.

I would probably start on an AM2 setup.

With an X2 3800+, 1GB of ram, and a 7600 GT.
