EVGA 680i mobo error code 41 HELP!

hey guys i got all m parts from new egg yesterday including my evga 680i mobo. i put the pc together and everything worked perfect except temps on cpu were a bit high so i turned off the pc after using the pc for a while and i took off the mobo took off the heatsink and put new thermal grease under it and reattached it. i hooked up the pc and i heard BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP... (continuous, and never ending) and on the monitor it reads (media detected in floppy A: ) .. i don't even have a floppy drive!

this morning before i came to work i took off all the ram but 1 stick, the video card and EVERYTHING except for the required power inputs and the cpu. I turned it on and i heard the SAME thing a never ending beep beep beep beep and on the error display on the board it gives me the number "41" all the time.

i looked in the manual and it says error "41 = reserved" .. ? what the hell is that, that dosent help me!

i KNOW the ram is good (tried in diff pc).

what do you guys think i should do when i get home to fix this???

THANKS!

You NEED to have at the very least:
A stick of ram
the CPU w/ HSF
A GPU or onboard
and connect the 20pin and 4pin

If you do not have everything i listed, you WILL get an error code or no signal to the moniter.
Make sure the GPU and RAM are pushed down flush.

Did you take the mobo out & put it back? Double check all the standoffs, might have grounded one. Maybe try reseating the cpu again too.

Or is this already resolved?

damn your good! i had taken out the mobo to put new thermal compound ON the cpu to lower temps. after i put everything back i had this problem, i thought maybe mobo was grounded but i even took it out and tried to turn it on and it did not work. never tried to reseat the cpu.. hopefully that was not is cuz i sent the mobo for RMA... but there was writing on the screen.. so i couldent have messed up the CPU could i have?

i hope my cpu is ok.. it should be i think cuz at work when my cpu died NOTHING would show on the screen.
