    Advice on motherboard upgrade?

Hello, I'm looking to upgrade my motherboard which is outdated (came stock with my Dell dimension 2400) so that I can buy an updated graphics card since the one I have only has PCI slots and I need PCI express.

I was told to find out the Pin count of my processor so I can find a motherboard that is compatible with it.

My question is, does anyone know how I can find out (other than physically counting each pin) and what else I need to do if I am to upgrade?

    Thanks alot.

    Hi there...
You have a socket 478. Just look for that when looking for a new board...

But I have to say, you'll probably need to buy some new ram. Yours is 184pin RAM, and the new board will probably support 240pin ram..
    Just so you know..
    Good luck!
