A lot of electronic projects come to mind which use an RS-232 port or parallel port.
This is like how they are pulling PCMCIA out of new laptops. Now how can I haxx a network with an express card? Have to buy a converter or use an USB network adapter. Or just use separate software for specific tasks. Anyway....I just hate when they change a perfectly good working device. Other uses of a serial port include, but not limited to: Cloning cell phones, listening to A(ARS, FL3X, PO(SAG paging and other formats, radio tower control channels, programing two way radios and other stuff you probably have no clue about...and/or I'd rather not mention.
