ello everybody, I come to you hoping to finally get the answer I need.
Recently I have purchased a new computer, it ran smooth at first without any problems then I turned it off and put in a 850W Power Supply in replacement of a 650W Power Supply. It was running fine at my computer shop but when I brought it home the LCD poster goes all the way up to "DET IDE" and then hits an "ERRORMSG" and goes no further. The next step is COM/LPT and this has to do with Serial connects. I am not sure if the LCD poster is referencing the error for the DET IDE, as that is the last successfull message I see before the error or if it is recieving the error the moment it attempts to check COM/LPT (serial). I have NO IDE devices, have attempted to take the CD rom and the SATA drive
Serial ATA - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia out of the equasion and have tried a known working SATA drive with and without CD rom connected.
I then exchanged out the 850 back to the 650W Power Supply to see if that worked.... Nothing .....
No picture on my monitor, nothing. Just a "errormsg" on the LCD Poster.
Any assistance anyone may be able to provide would be greatly appreciated.
