Question
Biostar K8m800 Mobo

Hey all, I have the K8M800 Mobo, and it came with a Semperon *yawn* CPU, but I'd like to upgrade the cpu to something better, like whats on this link:
http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en-us/mb/cpu...rt.php?S_ID=141

Can I use any of these "plug and play" or do I need to make some BIOS setting adjustments or update, or some jumper changes?

Thanks for all the replies!

It's pretty easy, but you may have to adjust certain BIOS parameters to get full speed. In my experience, Socket 939 motherboards pick up new CPUs pretty well.

You should update your BIOS before the swap.

I believe the AM2 socket is a 754, right? Is there an update bios for this Mobo? I have v6 now.

Heres the board: Biostar K8M800 | Biostar Motherboard | AGP Motherboard | Biostar Motherboards | K8M800

AM2 has 939 pins, but is called Socket AM2.

The first Athlon x64 CPUs were Socket 754, but later ones were 939.
