re-set factory settings in bios

Hi,

I am panicing! I am an idiot.

I have a computer which I use for music. It has a C drive for the programs and an extra E drive where the samples and audio are stored. In attempting to deal with a crash I have mistakenly restored the factory setup via BIOS. Now my C drive is still intact, but the computer reads my E drive as having no content. It refers to my E drive as 'New Volume'. The computer is also saying that it lacks a CPI driver for hardware. I will be able to speak to the suppliers on Monday. But I am crazy with worry today.

I am hoping that somebody with know-how might be able to assure me that I haven't wiped my E drive of all data. I am hoping that I have affected my computer'a ability to recognise that drive. Given the amount of internet space devoted to how difficult it is to clear a drive I am praying my meddling isn't fatal.

Can anyone re-assure me please.

Thanks very much

Jezxi

You probably did just make the computer unable to recognize your drive.
Although it seems somewhat odd that you can see the drive and not the data. That's probably due to the missing CPI driver.
