MOBO grounding

HI,
I've rigged my first system and after 3 months running smoothly (vista64bit) one day it didn't start. I had someone helping me to test every part and the conclusion was the MOBO failed. So I'm getting a replacing MOBO from the manufacturer.

I've read a couple of post regarding MOBO grounding and I'm not sure what would be the right thing to do to avoid it or to do it right.

Specifically I'd like to know if new cases (like my Thermaltake Spedo) and MOBOs (like my EVGA X58) need any special consideration regarding grounding when screwing the MOBO to the case's stands.

Another issue is if the foam stuck to the I/O panel shield is just for shipping protection or it should stay between the shield and the I/O plugs in the MOBO. Does the I/O sheild get grounded?

Regarding Power Supply, Is there a problem or a desirable thing that the PS grounds the MOBO through the ATX connector? I read about this and I don't know much about it...

many thanks guys

Id make sure all four corners and the center mass of the board are supported by the pins, obviously take out the ones that would touch electronics.
When working on these components, ALWAYS wear a grounding strap, or stand on a grounding pad.
With the power supply, bolt it to the chassis before applying power or connecting it to anything.
clean up the wires with tie wraps, or scotch 33. make sure you have ample length to reach all of your devices, and leave slack for the connectors to the mainboard.

thanks.
Will I need to have/keep a foam between the I/O shield and the I/O panel?

So, no washers are necessary for the pins/screws IŽll keep?
