I doubt it. Most Asus motherboards carry a 3 year limited lifetime warranty.
What's the problem with the board?

Hi rohan,
The ASUS CrashFree BIOS 3 allows users to restore corrupted BIOS data from a USB flash disk containing the BIOS file. This utility saves users the cost and hassle of buying a replacement BIOS chip.

Your friend is right!!!
Asus does provide Burn warranty for this motherboard.

The new warranty policy of ASUS, if at all the P5KPL-AM/PS motherboard is burnt due to power section failure (i.e. no power) because of power supply (SMPS) failure; the customer need not worry as the motherboard will be repaired/replaced by the company at no extra cost. ASUS is committed towards offering better services and better products to its customers and channel partners. And as part of this commitment, ASUS along with its exclusive Distributor Rashi Peripherals has also set up a toll free no. for all service support. (1800-2090-303).

if you haven't bought this board yet and planing to buy one then don't waste your time go for it you won't regret, as i own one.

john
