Gigabyte 770 vs 790GX (cant decide)

Gonna order some motherboards in a bit (AM2+) for customers builds. Do you think the 790GX chipset is worth it compared to the 770? I'm gonna get me the new ultra durable 3 Gigabyte boards and I was wondering because the 770 is quite a bit cheaper. I dont need crossfire and I dont need the raid 5 that the SB750 on the 790GX board offers. I also dont need any onboard graphics. All I need is a board that will get me up to some decent clocks. What do you think?

Its a toss between this guy
    Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-MA770-UD3 AM2+/AM2 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard - AMD Motherboards

    and this
    Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-MA790GP-UD4H AM2+/AM2 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard - AMD Motherboards

The 790X would have been perfect, but it seems like they stopped making AM2+ boards for the 790X chipset. All they have is the FX which I dont really need for this.

Well I guess it really depends on what your gonna use it for, and who ends up with them.
I imagine the UD4H board has better/more power management, for overclocking. Plus it's got more USB ports.
I would think that onboard GPU's would be good to have also, for the customers that don't game.
But I really think it comes down to who's actually gonna be using the board.

hmm. But most of them are going to end up with dedicated GPUs in the end anyways.

Well if that's the case and you don't think the lack of USB's or RAID or OC ability is a factor, then save yourself some money.
Again, it's just hard to say because I don't know who is ending up with the machine.

If you're looking to get good overclocks, than an AMD 790 board is the way to go.

    Here's a good one: GIGABYTE GA-MA790X-UD4P AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 790X - $109.99

Yeah. I tried asking for that board. But they told me there was no stock. I know that the Gigabyte 770 boards are supposed to be very very good tough, having many similar features to its 790 siblings.

Oh. How on earth did you find that site. I do order from them once in awhile. But yeah. I was looking for something around SG$200. We never get the variety you guys get over there! Lol. You people take newegg for granted

I really don't remember where I got the site from. I think somebody living in your neck of the woods posted it up once.

Newegg is da bomb. I don't take it for granted. I feel fortunate to have places like that available to us. I've seen the horrendous prices and lack of assortment some people have in other parts of the world.

Lol. Ok I contacted another supplier. I think I just may get my hands on a few of those AM2+ 790X boards (which were the ones I initially wanted).

I wish newegg supplied here . It would be nice if they started a regional thing here for southeast asia. Singapore stands a good chance being where they put the headquarters then Well, ok maybe not so fun for the existing retail outlets though
