Need to buy a new Mobo for existing system! Please help!
Guys,
I have decided to go for a new Mobo after encountering numerous problems with the present one.My budget is Rs 10,000 INR(approx 210 US $)
However many things have to be kept in mind before settling on a board. In decreasing order of importance, these are:
1)Should have at least two PCI-E 16X Slots.
2)The PCI-E slots should be as far away as possible from the SATA ports and other important connectors(My first board MSI P7NGM Digital was rendered useless as my huge Graphics card had physically covered all the SATA Ports)
3)Should support at least 8GB of DDR3 RAM(if it crosses my budget, then DDR2 will do).
4)Should have at least Intel P35 or P45 or later generation chipsets(See sig for my other config)
5)Should have at least 1600MHz or higher FSB.
6)Should have a basic cooling solution(Optional).
Current Rig:
C2D E7300 @ 2.66GHz| ASUS P5Q-E | Palit Radeon HD4870 1GB DDR5 | Corsair 800Mhz 2X2GB 5-5-5-18 | Seagate 500GB 7200.11 |Corsair TX 650W| Corsair CM 690 |Dell 19"|Creative t6100
Also please suggest a suitable UPS,mentioning Power in VA and brand.
Thanks

So I guess your planning on crossfiring your GPU's? (if not, why do you need 2 PCIe slots?)
And where are you planning on ordering from? I see your not from the US here, do you have a link to a website or store?Q6600@4Ghz | i7 920@4.4Ghz |E6320@3.5Ghz

Hello,
No,I'm not planning Crossfiring at the moment. But maybe in the near future.
Also,I'm from Calcutta and would buy the board from the dealer itself.

well you probably want the Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P. Pretty much one of the best C2D mobos you can buy. The pricier ones do not hold much more value for more $. Its US$135 on newegg.
BTW, do note that the P45 chipset only has 16 PCIe X16 lanes. That means that you will only get 8 lanes on each card if you crossfire. With that said, current cards in crossfire will not saturate a 16 lane PCIe X16 bus yet. Maybe in the future. Then again, by then you would have upgraded..
The X48 I think will give you a full 32 lanes, but then again its not worth it becasue of the price and reasons stated above.Last edited by pullmyfoot; July 14th, 2009 at 12:06 AM.
i5 3750 | ASUS P75 | GTX560Ti | 8gb Corsair Vengence

Yeah it blew up in my face 3.14 seconds ago lol. It actually is possible to OC a PSU, OCCT has a program that can. Any ways, I don't want a OEM Version of windows because if i try to even take out...
