| GIGABYTE GA-MA785GMT-UD2H... Your Thoughts?
Okay heres the deal. I am trying to build a multi-purpose system on a budget. I was looking for a board with decent onboard video for HTPC use and moderate gaming. After a bit of research I found this: Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-MA785GMT-UD2H AM3 AMD 785G HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard - AMD Motherboards
It has onboard Radeon HD4200 graphics, and has d-sub, dvi, and hdmi. It does have a 16x slot for future video upgrades (although I did want to use it for a sata raid controller). I know that onboard video generally uses up the system ram to operate and all that, but I plan to use 8GB of DDR3, so I really don't think that's all too much of an issue. What I do not know is the performance of the HD4200 graphics. From what I've gathered, it should be pretty good. As I said before, I will be doing moderate gaming, but nothing super intensive. Probably just counter-strike and battlefield and similar games. Do you think this motherboard would fit my needs? What performance bracket would you say the HD4200 is in? |

It will proberly run counterstrike (@800x600 all settings on low/off). Performance bracket will be with the low-end market, among 7200's etc.... You may as well throw in a 4670 which will do the job...
EDIT:- In relation to your other thread pick up a board with two PCI-E slots like..... Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-MA790XT-UD4P AM3 DDR3 AMD 790X ATX AMD Motherboard - AMD Motherboards
Good for 'OC' if you ever feel the need also.
