Dell Latitude D600 : Boot Problem

Hi guys,This is my first post in thhis forum and looking forward for your help badly...... :-(
I have a strange prblm with my laptop. Actually sometimes it doesnot boot up at all(The three lights of laptop get on for 3-4 secs and then nothing happens). If it boots (If i see the Dell Screen), it works for any number of hours..no probs at all. Even if I shut down for 2 -3 hrs , then too it starts and works properly.
(Its not the prblm with the battery as well as the same happens even if i remove battery....)
But now the interesting part, if i shut down for quite longer say 10 hrs or more, then laptop DOESNOT boot up at all. I am fed up of this.Many laptop service ppl repaired it and charged me a lot but of no use, finally they told its prblm with my chrgr/adapter. Today i bought a new chrgr/adapter.My system booted in the shop, i brought it to my house, checked whether its is getting booted and surprsingly it didnot started. Now , i charged my laptop for half an hr, and tried booting it and it startred. I know its quite confusing......I dont know what and where is the prblm??Is it prblm with the motherboard, or wht ...???? Please help

What do you do to get it to finally boot up?

A real common problem with laptops-> the ac adaptor connection to the mobo is breaking/needs repair or replacment.

I'm guessing that if you move the cord around a little is when the machine boots up.
