    Acer F690GVM motherboard

     
    This is my wife computer ,after adding a LG Wh08LS20 bluray burner,she wants more CPU power.

    Specs

    500W PSU
    AMD 9600 CPU
    3870 GPU
    3G Ram
    1Tb HDD
    Optiarc DVD RW AD 7200
    LG WH08LS20 Bluray burner

    What is the best CPU upgrade without bottlenecking it or will it take any X4
    I was looking at
    AMD Phenom II X4 940 Deneb

    Do you have a link for the specs, or at least a model number for the PC? Searching Google doesn't really turn up much on the baord.

    It's a Acer M5100 I did a google and searched acer's site I didn't get much

    Other than giving the chipset info the specs sheet really doesn't help much, but I tend to agree with these guys over at the AMD forum. typically for an older board to support newer chips the manuf. has to release a newer bios, something that is seriously lacking with these oem boards.
