    System boots for a second and shutdowns buts

     
    My systems boots for a second and shutdown .Fan is running properly but system is not running. SMPS is running properly .Can anyone suggest to trouble shoot .

    It sounds as if your CPU or RAM is bad.

    To test the system, disconnect all HDs and boot. That way you are isolating everything but the MB, CPU and RAM.

    I have done as you told but that not solved the problem. I have checked ram and procesor in other desktop system and thats running fine.

    Is this a new build or an old computer that just started doing this? Sounds like a grounding problem....

    Yes, that could be it too (and is rather likely.) If the MB's electrical contacts are touching the metal case, it could be grounding. That's why the case comes with spacers -- to isolate the MB from the case.

    In addition, pull any PCI expansion cards, or USB devices. They can stop a computer if they are bad.
