Computer Upgrade
So I just recently came into possession of a semi older custom built PC, and Id like to to know how far I can take it, if at all. I've been researching, but I'm very new to this, any help is appreciated. I mainly just play wow, and dont seem to have any problems on the highest settings... but I've now realized Power is a dangerous thing. I seek more.
Specs as of now:
Mother Board: MSI K9N2GM-FD MSI USA – Computer, Laptop, Notebook, Desktop, Mainboard, Graphics and more
Processor:AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4800+
Ram: 4GB Max 8GB
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT 512MB
Power Supply: Max Wattage 575w
let me know if more info is needed.Last edited by Zackal; December 12th, 2009 at 10:08 PM.

Why? If it does everything you want it to why upgrade?
Best cpu you can go with is the athlon 64x2 6xxx series or even a phenom... although not sure if it will be worth it. There is no point adding more RAM, 4 gb is enough for most things.
Cant make any video card suggestions till we know the make and model of thay PSU.Last edited by Aaron_8015; December 12th, 2009 at 10:18 PM.

As Aaron said if you are already getting what you want out of it then I don't see why'd you want to throw more money at it and no a new motherboard alone won't help you gain anything. You'd need to buy a new CPU, and GPU for that.
The board supports several newer and faster chips and pci-e x16 2.0 so realistically the only limits you have are based on your budget.

Well, as I'm sure you know, computer technology excels at such a rate, there will be a time when I will have to upgrade. The PSU is a WT575i. From what I've read, it actually sounds pretty low grade.
Oh, and the only reason I've been playing WoW exclusively is because I never had a PC that could handle anything more.Last edited by RicheemxX; December 12th, 2009 at 10:44 PM.

I'd start with figuring out a budget, then the first upgrade I'd go for is a new better PSU and go from there.
