    Asus P7P55D Pro

    Hey ive installed the following parts but when i start the computer all the fans start up but nothing happens;

    Asus P7P55D Pro
    Intel I5 750
    Ati 5850
    Kingston HyperX 2x2GB DDR3-1600 Cl8

    I have no case speaker to hear the beeps but the Motherboard has LEDs next to the various components to indicate problems. On mine the red Memory light is on indicating that its not installed correctly or that its incompatible. The board has a memOK button to automatically tune the ram to work but its done nothing. The store i bought it from says it should work.

    Ive tried reseting the CMOS, booting with a single stick in, and changing the slot.

    My HD is running XP but i was going to install Win7.

    Other sites ive read say to update the BIOs though how i can do that when nothing is on screen i dont know.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    There is a 12 V power plug:

    If we imagine the cpu to be the center of a clock, and 12 o'clock is the shortest distance from the cpu to the edge of the board, the plug I'm talking about is at 11 o'clock. (your memory is at 3 o' clock)

    It's an easy one to miss.

    Also, check to see your "Clear CMOS" jumper is in the right position and not on the "Clear CMOS" position.

    The 8pin 12v plugs in the top and the CMOS jumper is on pins 1-2, its normal state.

    If I understand you correctly, the ram light is showing red. So your board is saying it doesn't like your ram.

    I suspect bad ram. See if the store will let you swap ram.

    Also, if it's too hard to do, maybe buy some ram and return it if it's not the problem. Be sure to check their return policy, and be careful opening the package.

    If that doesn't work, I'd exchange the board and the ram.
