Windows 7 upgrade...
I am trying to upgrade my custom desktop PC to windows 7 and my current motherboard is way out of date. I found a new mobo and CPU but i'm not sure if they're compatible with each other. here's the links to them:
Intel BOXDP43TF LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
Newegg.com - Intel BOXDP43TF LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard - Intel Motherboards
Intel Pentium E5200 Wolfdale 2.5GHz 2MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor - Retail
Newegg.com - Intel Pentium E5200 Wolfdale 2.5GHz 2MB L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops
I just want to know if the parts listed above are compatible with each other or not. And if you have another combo that's under $200 [I'm on a budget] please post.

im buying 4gb of DDR2 800 RAM as soon as the mobo comes in.
and i am more partcial to getting Intel mobos rather than AMD mobos.
also i forgot to mention that within the $200 budget im also buying a graphics card so i would like to buy a mobo/processor combo for a little less.
and i never got an answer as to whether or not my first post parts were compatible or not...

It doesn't appear that they are. Maybe with a firmware update, but that motherboard does not list Pentium Dual core.
"Core 2 Quad / Core 2 Duo / Pentium D / Celeron"
IMO, I wouldn't be to partial to Intel as AMD makes excellent products as well. They're both great, I would focus on getting the best deal.Cute

Well, the two I selected are vastly superior to your choice, your list also only leaves $48.51 for a video card.... so all you are able to get is something low end. You would be better off getting mobo with on-board video and picking up a video card in the future.

cool, all of that made sense, i will run the "vastly superior" choices with some co-workers to make sure they're also happy with this cause out of all of them, I'm the least picky, they will turn down any offer if it has one thing that they don't like on it; even the color...
BUT; knowing them well i think they may go with the intel combo Aaron_8015 mentioned above.
Also; the graphics card i mentioned; that was an add-on to the budget. I had a $200 budget, and with the graphics card added my budget went up in order to obtain a nice graphics card...

Co-workers? Can I ask what's going on? Are you all pitching in for a gaming computer for the office? :P

we're trying to build something that resembles a media production PC. nothing fancy, just something the can smoothly handle the adobe master collection CS4 and make some machinimas with our Xbox's and other game consoles...
and now that i think about it, after going over my current PC specs, i could jusy get away with my pentium D CPU and just find a new motherboard that can handle it...

What are your current PC specs? I don't really think a new motherboard will be your solution.
