Asus P6T Deluxe V2 power connector question

I am building an Intel Core i7 920 based machine using the Asus P6T Deluxe Version 2 mobo. The power supply (a Coolermaster 600W supply) has two EATX12V cables.

The mobo also has two EATX12V connectors, but one of them is covered.

Do I remove the cover and connect both cables or just one of them?

    Thank you,

I would. It's probably an optional dedicated power feed for the CPU. I'm sure that it will run better with it connected.

What does the motherboard manual say about it?

While the mobo manual is fairly good overall, the power section is very poor IMO. This is all it says about this connector:

"Do not forget to connect the 4pin/8pin EATX12V powerplug; otherwise the sysmtem will not boot".

The PS manual is even worse, all it has is a list of the different connectors, with pin layout and voltages.

Same as the p6t ( non-Deluxe ). If you have the connectors from your ps, use them both. The uncovered one is the one you should use if your ps only has a 4 pin.

Before you ask, the uncovered one will have the "keying" in place but the covered one may not have the same shape holes ( universal) be careful to put the locking tabs ( on the cables ) on the same side if you have the 4+4 type setup.

This was in my manual for the p6t but I really had to look for that 1 line..
