What Good Are PCI-X Slots ?
Not to be confused with the various PCI-E (PCIe) slots.
These are essentially PCI slots with a larger bandwidth.
They are found in Workstation motherboards and computers made several years ago. Intel and HP were once big on them.
-- 133 MHz PCI-X slot
-- 100 MHz PCI-X slot
I have these in an 8 Gb ECC Reg RAM HP dual-Xeon WS I am soon going to upgrade with WIN7. I'd like to get some benefit out of them.
Any suggestions or cautions?
