Replacing a Asus P5Q SE: Suggestions?

So I built a machine for a friend last year and we used an Asus P5Q SE Plus motherboard in the system. In April, it blew up and since then Asus has sent me two replacement motherboards that have also bit the dust (yes, I'm completely positive that the motherboard is the culprit part and it's not something else). Rather than continue to deal with their junk rebuilt mobos that they keep sending, my buddy finally have me the go ahead to purchase a new one entirely.
I am now extremely leery (and very pissed off) of Asus, but they've been my go to brand for a decade now. Any suggestions of other good brands or motherboards I should look at / steer clear of?
The only one that caught my eye so far was this: Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3L LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard
The other parts for this build are all over a year old, so I'm not looking for anything extravagant.

    Thank you for your time!
    Good job, friend-of-friends!

Gigabyte certainly makes good boards, and I have been pretty impressed with MSI as well. My Asus board for my AMD setup has been a big disappointment.

Since you are looking for something other than an Asus P45 board with DDR2, your options are fairly limited. That Gigabyte board you found looks like your best bet.
