BIOS won't boot

Hi, I have a question about my new computer, that I was hoping that someone could answer. This is a completely new computer built from the ground up using parts. The specifications are:

Motherboard - Gigabyte 880GA-UD3H
Processor - AMD Phenom ii x6 1090t
Power Supply - OCZ GameXStream 850W
Graphics - What came with the Motherboard
Hard Drive - Seagate Barracuda 1.5TB
Disk Drive - ASUS DRW - 24B1ST
Monitor - Acer X193W

I built this yesterday. However, there are some problems with this; BIOS will not boot. I took apart and rebuilt the computer and then I got something. It turns out that I had forgotten to plug in the speaker that the computer needed to boot BIOS. BIOS would boot (it gave me a single beep) and I got to the point of installing the OS (Xubuntu 10.4). However, while the OS was installing, the computer just crashed, turned the display off, and then turned itself off. Since then, I have not been able to get the computer to work. I think that the problem has to do with the motherboard, but I am not sure. Does anyone have any advice?

Did you apply thermal paste to the cpu/heatsink?

Yeah, I just did that, but no luck.

Oh wait, I just called the Gigabyte Tech Support and it seems that my problem is resolved. I had incorrectly seated the memory.
