    AMD based motherboards w/ PS2 ports. Are they still common?

    I know all the legacy stuff is disappearing fast, so I'm wondering if the PS2 port is in the list of endangered features?

    The reasons I still want PS2 is;
    1. Decicated for two purposes; a mouse & keyboard,
    2. If the USB bus goes down (it's has happened to me), I don't loose the mouse & keyboard,
    3. I have a KVM switch for a 2nd computer when I work on one (for convenience).

    Most boards that I've been looking at still have 2 PS2 ports.
    I have noticed a few with just 1 port, but not that many with no ps2.
    That is just my sampling, and I would of only been looking @ Gigabyte, Asus, and Intel.

    Others seem to be saying they are hard to come by.

    what others? why does it always have to be mysterious others causing problems lol

    Looking over at newegg I see plenty of options. Sure some of the newer boards are phasing out both the ps2 ports and opting for a single keyboard port but then again many of the keyboard/mouse manf. are phasing out ps2 equipped items.

    edit: Another thing to keep in mind, you'd need to elaborate as to what AMD boards you are looking at. If this is a replacement board for an older build then there is no issue. If you are talking about a brand new build with the latest chipsets then yeah some of the 890 based boards are loosing the ps2 mouse port but by no means are all of them.

    Just a quick search on NewEgg for AM3 boards, get 46.
    I can't find 1, without at least 1 PS2 interface.
