Motherboard not Reading Video cards
So about 3 days ago my computer shut down randomly and when I restarted it It displayed an error message that my CPU failed and to service immediatly. Well I automaticly assumed that my motherboard was done but I have nothing else to do so I kept on trying to get my comp to start, well after the last 3 days I have discovered that (Im also using a 23" Hp 2310m moniter and it doesnt want to display any video with the integrated card (which may as well not exist its a ATI Radeon xpress 200 series 64mb)) of the 3 video cards I have ( I just bought a new one today, cheap to see if it would work its a Radeon HD5450 512mb) none work, The first video card that I was last using sucessfuly (Radeon HD4670) whenever I try using it the computer power light flashes and goes off and the comp doesnt start again until i remove it and unplug the pc. on my other video card (Radeonx1300pro) and my new one whenever I try starting the comp the power light turns on and the fans turn on the card and the processor but my monitor receives no picture and my keyboard lights do not function so im assuming that the comp is not booting. Im extreemely computer literate, and i've tried everything I can think of, help!
the computer does start in safe mode w/o a video card also.
EDIT: Also My Comps Specs are (its a realy old pos):
Processor: AMD Sempron3200+ 1.8ghz
4gigs of DDR RAM
BIOS:V6.00
also using all of the video cards above (or at least I was) and the HP2310m MonitorLast edited by numb032; January 9th, 2011 at 09:05 PM.

Hi Numb032,
Welcome to TechIMO.
Tell us exactly what happens in safe mode. You said it starts in safe mode without a video card? I'm struggling to figure out how you even know it's starting without a video card.

when i use the integrated video card the computer runs normaly (this is a new development, I have been having trouble with getting my monitor to display a low resolution setting (it was giving me a message "input signal out of range" when not ran in safemode but now the monitor runs in both normal and safe mode). But the computer fails to boot with any video cards in the PCI-E slot.
Thanks for any insight also
also to answer your question about how i know it starts without a video card, Ive noticed that whenever my computer is running normaly the numlock/capslock/scolllock lights work but if the comp is not functioning (as in totaly locked up not working at all) the lights do not turn on or off so I use that to know if my comp is even booting if i cant veiw my monitor. not realy sure if all of this is true but It seems to be with my comp.
So I just read that the recommended power supply wattage for the card is 350 or greater and my current one is quite old , peaking at 250w max, will this cause my current problems?
Also the new card is pci express x16, does the x16 make it not work in a normal pci-e slot? all my tech is archaic so im not sureLast edited by numb032; January 9th, 2011 at 11:20 PM.

If you hold a light to the screen, can you see anything?

My only thought would be to manually disable the onboard video in the BIOS and see if it reverts to the PCI-E.

There is a vintage Diaclone Grimlock in the original box on eBay. Diaclone, as in before Transformers G1. Start is $429.
