Onboard LAN Adapter not seen by Device Manager after upgrading BOIS
Dear Experts
I have MotherBoard ASUS P5GC-MX/1333 in the link below :
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P5GC-MX/1333
Every thing was working fine (XP Prof SP3) till my mate upgraded the BOIS after that Onboard LAN Adapter got missing from the Device Manager and the LAN icon got missing from my "Network Place".
I did a fresh installation of windows still the same problem is going on, then I realized the problem with BOIS.
I have checked BOIS and I enabled every thing that I would have thought is related to onboard LAN but still no joy.
What should I do to rectify the problem
Thanks

I suggest that your mate check the Bios driver he downloaded . Maybe he downloaded a Bios for a different revision . The same boards come sometimes with different revision numbers like rev 1.0 or 2.0 or any similar number .
Check directly on the mainboard , and you'll find the right version next to the board name .

What dose the LAN adapter show in device manager?
Never mind, I see now, it is missing.
Is there a chipset driver?
Although a BIOS flash, shouldn't wipe out drivers.Last edited by stroyal; May 10th, 2011 at 10:48 AM.
