your PSU upgrades are pretty much slim to none, if not non existent, you don't have a standard size case or system, its a slim case, and only certain PSU's will fit.

Have you actually LOOKED at the PSU in your case, and compared it to the one you found on Amazon? They don't even match in dimensions and size (Think Square Block, Round Hole), why would you even think or assume it would work?

as to 500W power, you really don't need anywhere near that much.

as a side note, any further queries about this PC, please keep it all in ONE Thread only, I asked Admins to merge the threads, but apparently no one has bothered to read that yet, or bothered to do so.

The PSU, and GPU questions (the latter is double posted in 2 sections and only needs to be in one section), are all for the same system and related. It keeps things all nice and tidy in one area, instead of having to jump around from one thread to another.

You have a x16 PCI Express slot in your Pictures, long slot you highlighted, just about any PCIe Graphics card will work in that, space, and Power supply permitting.

you have a slim line case, so you'll be limited to low powered Half Height Cards.

Unless that 9600GT your referring to in your other thread is half height, it won't fit no matter what PSU you have in your case.

What CPU do you have in your PC? (exact Model and Speed)

Also List your Current Power Supplies Wattage Rating, and the Amp Rating for the +12V Rail, info is on the sticker on the PSU, all that can be read from it in the pics is that its an HP Brand PSU.

Also you listed gaming, exactly WHAT games are you playing, or trying to play?

Pretty much the minimum size power supply that can run a dedicated card, is going to be a brand name 300watt.

To get into the lower end of high performance gaming, you need a brand name 400watt. ($35-40)

I would consider that to be in the range of a HD5770, or the re-badged HD6770.(same card) ($110-120
Your CPU would waste much more also.

There are a few cards in between that and what you have now, and you are stuck with those, because of your case.

A new case, would solve some of those problems, but most of us would recommend, selling that HP and building new.

I don't think, I have ever seen a power supply. like the type you have, larger than 300w, if you can find one. Those pieces of junk, aren't cheap either.
(Athena Power AP-MFATX30 300W Power Supply for HP Slimline System)

The only one I ever bothered with, I modified the case, so a standard power supply would fit.
That one had a full size video card though.

Even the 4650 and 5570 requires a 400w, or at least a brand name 350w

The GT220 needs at least a 350w, although I keep seeing 30amps on the 12v, and that will be hard to find, in 350w

I personally don't like CoolerMaster, because they are a little light on the 12v rail, but they are acceptable.
    Newegg.com - COOLER MASTER Elite Power RS-400-PSAR-J3 400W ATX12V v2.31 Power Supply

    These are good.
    Newegg.com - XIGMATEK NRP-PC Series ACXTNRP-PC402 400W ATX12V Ver.2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

I personally like Corsair, but are usually a little more expensive.

Just avoid anything on our bad list, and pick from the good list.

I notice one of the reviewers is running a HD5570 on this 300w,
BUT, I also notice, it is running hot, a sure sign, of an overloaded power supply.

Well it only calls for a 300W, and a good 250w should run it, if you can find a good 250w.

I have no idea what the quality of a HP power supply is, but I assume they are pretty good without any extra. Just look for too much heat, coming out of the power supply.

The 4350 is 1/3 the video output of a 5570, though.

You will find the 5570 @ 761, on the High End chart, and the 4350, on the Mid Range chart, @ 229.

PassMark Software - Video Card Benchmark Charts

Just a general bench, I call it quick and dirty, because it is artificial, on unknown systems, by unknown people.
But it is a good quick check.

4350 is weaker than the Geforce GT 220. You should be able to play CS 1.6 on it fine though, but a GT 220 or its newer replacement the GT 520 (not much difference between the two really), would be fine as well.

I really wouldn't chance it on the 220W HP PSU though, as its just barely enough to run the system as is. GT 220 is not that Powerful a card, and can run on 300W easily, but your probably already pulling close to PSU's limit when you add the 220 in.

What was the +12V Rail Amp rating on the PSU?

Nicole - PSU means "power supply unit." I think you're thinking aboue CPU when you talk about processors. And since Intel and AMD are the only companies that make CPU's I'd have to agree they are the best
