    SATA 6 Gbps question

I have a XFX Nforce 680i LT Motherboard. I was going to order a new HDD. I was told that the mobo or the chipset may not support the newer 6 Gbps SATA drives transfer speed.
Is there any truth to this?
    Thanks

Umm well this should be pretty open. Your old tech won't support the newer faster speeds but the drive should be backwards compatible. It should run at whatever standard you have now sata 1or 2
